Arsenal Arsenal Arsenal

I say this with my hands to my face, as United all but have the title in their cabinet for a 19th time, Arsenal fc, the once might invincibles are left trophy less yet again. I don't want have to turn into one of the those fans that look back on the glory days and mutter to myself, but its all I can do to keep myself going. Arsenal in February had the chance of taking home 4 trophies, but instead it seems we dropped them somewhere down in "Choke Street", and are now left with nothing but wounds to lick.

A 1-0 victory over Man United of course lifted my spirits greatly, but then only to lose 3-1 to Stoke, it is a shocking end to such a promising season. The defense on Sunday was as usual found wanting, first goal was surprise surprise from a set play and saw Jones net it, useless Arsenal. The second was a deflection so a little unlucky, but Szczesny should have done better. Stokes 3rd goal was another case of brilliant defense, Djourou who has had 2 shockers in his last 3 games cleared the ball straight to the feat of Walters who made no mistake. Djourou one of my protected species has finally broken my last nerve, yes he improved throughly, but we need a new defense, but more on that later. Arsenal in reply instead of passing the ball around and finding gaps have been crossing the ball and some of the time VP is the one crossing, what a useless tactic, who the hell is going to score from this in the Arsenal side BendtnerChamakh, no they are on the bench, I really am lost for words. When Wenger in the second half changed formation to play two upfront things looked better, I really think Van Persie is a great player, but he cannot do it on his own, Mr Glass needs a strike partner.

Koscielny has done what he was bought to do, but he was never meant to play the entire, season the guy played French 2 division 2 years ago, he was meant to be a back up defender. Vermaelen had he not been injured maybe things would have been a little different, but they weren't and buying a player like Squillaci was a complete waste of time, he is terrible. Arsenal need to buy Cahill, Jagielka or Mertesacker, plain and simple, then a striker maybe Benzema, Milito or Radamel Falcao from Porto. There is more that needs to be done, but I'm to bloody depressed to keep writing, Gunners I love you and always will, but when will you return the love.......

Rivalry doesn’t come bigger

Its FA cup semi Final time, ah yeah, although Arsenal have been knocked out that doesn’t mean this semi doesn’t get my mouth watering. Manchester United take on those big money boys Manchester City from across the road, the is on neutral ground so there will be no advantages there, but my word this is going to be a good one. City who are still in the fight for 4th place in the league know that this is their only chance of silverware and will be out guns a blazing. Manchester United on the other hand have a chance of winning a treble, if that happens I might shoot myself……

So maybe with the champions league semi on their mind and approaching fast, they will not be as determined as City to get something to show for all that ridiculous money they have spent. I say this lightly as United always seem to be focused, or rather their experienced heads remain calm and with red faced Fergi at the helm, maybe they can win it all.

Possible sides will be:

Man City: Hart; Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov; Yaya Toure, Barry, De Jong; Silva, Balotelli, Milner.

Manchester United: Van der Sar; O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Giggs, Nani; Berbatov, Hernandez.

That clown Balotelli may not start because he is such an idiot and it could be Dzecko, but the man is not firing. For United Rooney is suspended, who is on fine form so he will be missed as he always brings his BMT to the party, but unfortunately for United not this one. We all remember what happened the last time these two met and City will be out for revenge. For me I would have to pick United in this one as much as I want United to lose, they just are a Team and City are not, a bunch overpaid, spoilt stars that always buckle.

Something that City will hope doesn’t happen again.

United too Strong for Blues.

At the beginning of the day I had hoped that Chelsea would be able to overturn that one goal deficit, but it wasn't to be those bloody Mancs did it again and have booked themselves a place in the final 4, with a 2-1 win on the night making it 3-1 on agg. They are likely to play Schalke 04 as they meet Inter tonight who have a mountain to climb after their 5-2 loss at home, and at half time the Germans are up 1-0 my word how the special one made a difference at Inter.

So United will meet the Germans and in my mind and I’m sure for most others, will be favourites to advance to the final at Wembley, let’s just hope that the Spanish team they meet (yes Spanish, spurs you have no chance). Last night I was hoping that Chelsea would pull all the stops, but Carlo Ancelotti the clown put Torres in to start ahead of Didier Drogba, seriously what was he thinking, Torres couldn’t find the net if he was a fisherman, and Drogba the scourge of Arsenal who always has his BMT trump card, waiting to be thrown down. And it showed United were one nil up at half time thanks to Father Time’s, i.e. Ryan Giggs’, cross and Javier Hernandez put it in. Drogba was brought on in the second half and sure enough he scored, What was Ancelotti thinking…..clown….but that was all in vain as the dog eating Park stepped up for the winner and to make it 3-1 on agg.

So United go marching on and hopefully all these competitions lead to fatigue, injury and slip ups so that the mighty Gunners can sneak in there and bring home the title. I’m still keeping the faith, but that’s just me.
